NEW YORK — A woman has been charged with murder for allegedly stabbing her father to death in an apartment in Brooklyn, New York.
Nikki Secondino, 22, was charged with murder on Thursday for allegedly stabbing her father, Carlo Secondino, 61, according to WCBS.
Officers had responded to a call about an assault inside a building near 17th Avenue in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn just before 6 a.m., according to WABC.
Carlo Secondino’s 19-year-old daughter was also stabbed in the incident, according to WABC. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Nikki Secondino was also taken to the hospital where she was reportedly treated for slash wounds on her hands.
According to WABC, police initially believed that two men had forced entry into the home and reportedly demanded to see a safe. However, police didn’t find any signs of forced entry or a safe inside the home. Hours later, Nikki Secondino was arrested.
Investigators have been looking into the family’s history including domestic history to see if the incident had started from a family argument, according to WABC.
Nikki Secondino has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to WCBS.
No further information has been released.
