Nautilus recalls about 3,700 Bowflex barbell sets (NCD)

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Nautilus issued a voluntary recall Wednesday for its Bowflex SelectTech 2080 Barbell with Curl Bar, citing the risk for an impact injury.

According to the recall notice, issued in partnership with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the injury risk stems from a weight plate that can fall from the end of the barbell.

Consumers are asked to immediately stop using the barbells and contact Vancouver, Washington-based Nautilus to receive a free kit with replacement straight and curl bars, intended to address the balance issue.

To date, Nautilus has received only one customer complaint of a weight plate falling off the end of the barbell, causing property damage. No injuries have been reported.

According to the company, about 3,700 of the items were sold from June 2020 through July 2020 for about $550 at retailers Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nebraska Furniture Mart and Play It Again Sports as well as online at www.Bowflex.com and www.Amazon.com.

Consumers may contact Nautilus at 800-243-7091 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or online at www.NautilusInc.com and click on Safety Notices for more information.
