When I was growing up my mom had an incredible backyard full of flowers, trees, bushes and a herb garden that smelled amazing. Recently I attempted 4 potted plants and some random seeds in the ground. It was hot and messy. The kids got into everything. We all had a blast. There was some wine, the plants turned out okay and if we get really lucky there will be pumpkins in the backyard sometime around the 4th of July.

So here’s all the stuff. And here’s Ben filling up the watering can with dirt.

Stella helped pick the orange flowers out of the container.

I got one of them into a pot. Ben turned the trash into a new hat.

The kids wanted to try planting pumpkin seeds, so we did. I don’t have a lot of faith it we will have anything grow, but it’s worth a shot. Stella needed some dirt for something and Keri was relaxing with our dog Frasier. Good times. Happy planting!
