A wine merchant in England named Tom Gilbey ran the London Marathon while doing a wine tasting at the same time. He sampled 25 different wines, one at each mile marker, and he was able to correctly identify a lot of them.
He didn’t drink a full glass each time but definitely wasn’t sober by the end. He did it to raise money for a hospice charity. He was hoping to bring in around $2,500, and ended up with 10 times that much.
He finished the race in 4 hours and 41 minutes.
